The Velocity of Saul at his Conversion
As he gathered speed the landscape.
Moved 5 meters per second due south.
Or maybe the people below changed direction.
Equations of triangles and dialects.
Jet trails loosened his feet and.
Birds caught in his sleeves.
His childhood weighed the most.
Equal to his brother’s fists.
His bed’s narrow shelf.
The braids of the girl from the next village.
Refracted through a thousand yards of sunlight.
Each with its own mathematical formula.
The earth stretched out in theorems.
Blue and apocryphal.
Absolved from stream-bed and mountain.
His fingers went flat subtracting.
Tarsus from Damascus.
One from their suitcase of dimensions.
As he broke through to.
The constant upper atmosphere.
He saw a last glimpse a wavering.
Signature of white molecules.
Oxygen starving in the light or final equation of.
Bone and linen scarf.
The calculation of his speed and direction required.
Careful substitution of S for P.
Headdress for halo for zero for infinity.
X for the value of his spirit’s acceleration.
And his soul outstretched.
